How do cashback sites work?

Cashback sites simply pass you on to the retailer’s website, in return the retailer pays us a commission for referring you. We take that commission and share it with you, it really is that simple. Think of it like when you join a gym, at a gym if you recommend a friend they often give you money or free gifts, we do the same but for all UK retailers (except we don’t give gifts just the money back)

We use special tracked links which mean the retailer know that we sent them and it also tells us which member the cashback should be given too. The links don’t affect your shopping at all and you’ll be sent to the exact same site that you would if you just typed the url of the retailer in.

 

How do I use the site?

You can use the site in various ways, either you can simply find the retailer you wish to shop at by searching in the search box or categories, you then click the get cashback button, this sends you to the retailers website. Here you just shop as usual and we will credit the cashback to your account within 24-48 hours.

 

What can I get cashback on?

You can get cashback on everything from normal online purchases to purchasing services such  as insurance, mobile phone contracts, dvd rental and much more. We even have a section which lets you get free cashback for doing surveys, getting freebies, entering competitions and more.

The only restriction on what you can get cashback on is whether the retailer offers it, if you find the retailer on our site the chances are they will, if they don’t we will state that they don’t.

 

I can’t find the retailer I want to shop at?

If we don’t have the retailer you want to shop at featured on our website then we recommend you email us with the name and URL of the retailer. We will then go and see if they offer cashback and add them to our website. Normally in 48 hours so if you can wait you can get cashback with them then.

 

How much will I be paid?

The cashback amount varies from retailer to retailer, some pay a fixed percentage of spend for example 5% (so if you spend £50 you get £2.50 back) where as other retailers may offer varying percentages depending on what you buy.

Some retailers also pay you a set amount, these usual are services or financial products where you may get paid £70 for example for buying a mobile phone contract.

 

What are cookies?

Cookies are tiny bits of information that are put into your browser that lets the retailer know where you came to the site from. So for example clicking a Tesco cashback link on our site will give you a cookie which lets Tesco know you came from us, Tesco then pay us the commission and we pass it on to you. Cookies are safe and used by nearly every site on the internet, they are often used to remember you i.e when you go to a website and you’re still logged in such as Facebook this is as they have a little cookie remembering you.

Yes when you join CashbackBay it is 100% free and we will never ever ask for any payment.

 

How do I get paid?

You can request payment once you have reached the threshold which is in your account, we have this threshold as it would take all of our time to pay small amounts all the time. We pay users every week on payment.

Why should I use you all the time?

It’s simple, use us every time you shop online and in no time the cashback will accumulate. You must be logged into the site in order for us to track the cashback.

 

Can I have multiple accounts?

Unfortunately you are only allowed one account per person,  this is in our terms and conditions in order to prevent fraudulent cashback transactions. Anyone found to be using multiple accounts may be banned and any cashback withdrawn.

 

I’ve forgotten my password, what do I do?

If you have forgotten your password you can request a new one or reminder by going to the login page and clicking the ‘forgotten password’ link.

 

Can I close my account?

Yes you can close your account at anytime, simply email us from the email account associated with your CashbackBay account and if possible give us your reason. We will then close your account and delete your information.

 

What are the pending, confirmed, payable and paid statuses in my account mean?

These are the status of the cashback you are due:

  • Pending means the retailer has seen we sent them and notified us of the cashback due.
  • Confirmed means that they have confirmed it’s all correct and not fraudulent.
  • Payable means they have paid us and we can then pay.
  • Paid means we have paid you for this transaction.

Can friends and family use my CashbackBay account?

We highly recommend that you let your friends and family sign up to their own account as this makes it a lot easier and we cannot pay out if friends use your account. We have a refer a friend system in place which means we pay you to refer friends!

Can I get cashback using the links if I pick up in store?

No, only transactions which are delivered to you can we offer cashback on. This includes shopping in stores as well.

 

So I just need to click the link?

Yes and to order online, as long as your browser has cookies enabled then we can track your cashback (most computers have them set as standard) We recommend that you click the link and then shop in that session as if you leave the site or come back to checkout at a later date the cashback may not be tracked.

 

How do I enable cookies?

Do I pay a higher price than if I go direct to the retailer?

No, the price you will pay at the retailer will be the same as it would be if you went direct to the retailer.

How long for my cashback to appear?

Cashback normally appears within 24-48 hours, however it may take up to 5 days before it appears in your account.

 

What if it has appeared after 5 days?

We recommend that you leave it a full week (7 days) before you consider it missing, at this time we recommend that you email us with as much of the following information as possible:

Information about the purchase, order number, date you purchased, the retailer, your CashbackBay email and any other info you think may be helpful.

We will then investigate and try and resolve the cashback.

 

Reasons cashback may not appear

Here are some of the main reasons that cashback doesn’t appear in your account, avoid these mistakes to ensure that your cashback is credited to you.

- Member isn’t logged in. (You must be logged into CashbackBay in order for links to track)

- Member purchased item over the phone (only online purchases are eligible for cashback)

- Members cookies aren’t enabled (Cookies must be enabled in your browser)

- Members visited another site after clicking the link (Visiting other websites may overwrite your cookie, we recommend when you click the link in CashbackBay you shop straight away)

- Member returns an item or gets a refund.

 

Is there a limit on missing cashback?

Yes we can only investigate missing cashback from the last 2 months, anything later than that and we cannot.

 

Payment

How do I get paid?

We can pay you through either Paypal or by Bank Transfer (BACS)

We make payments through BACS. Your BACS details should be updated in your profile page for us to make payments.

 

Can anyone be a member?

Anyone who lives in the UK and is over the age of 18 can have a CashbackBay account.

 

It sounds too good to be true?

We have been around for over 6 years and paid thousands of pounds to our members every year, we have thousands of happy members who use us every time they purchase anything online. We also don’t charge you a penny so you can sign up and see for yourself.

 

Is there a limit on how much I can earn?

No, there is no limit to how much you can earn, some of our members earn hundreds  of pounds every year.

 

Can I use a voucher/discount code as well?

You can only use vouchers and discount codes provided by us, use of other codes may result in cashback not being paid.
